Government Reform

“My politics are short and sweet, like the old woman’s dance.” Abraham Lincoln.

Albert F. Spencer follows a philosophy of “less is more.” As a beginning teacher, he was advised to “teach fundamentals, and teach them well.” This same approach would work very well in the government. Some of Albert Spencer’s proposals include:

*
The number of terms that members of Congress can serve needs to be limited
*
The amount of financial contributions that any candidate for public office is able to spend needs to be limited. There are a great number of social-economic needs in America that are in far greater need of funding than are any political party or candidate

Less than 50% of eligible American voters actually vote. Albert F. Spencer believes that the few should not decide for the many. This percentage could be easily greatly increased by utilizing a system for all voters in South Carolina such as is presently covered under the “Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act.” This could be accomplished either on-line or via telephone. It is time that government truly represents the people.
